Il primo micro-satellite italiano dotato di propulsone elettrica di SITAEL nello spazio con il supporto del CIRA

SITAEL's first full electric micro-satellite into space with the support of CIRA

The first all-electric small satellite “MicroHETSat" made in Italy, designed and produced by SITAEL with a contract from the European Space Agency and financed by Italian Space Agency, lifted off from California on board of a SpaceX Falcon-9 launcher. In the months preceding the launch, the satellite successfully passed the thermal vacuum test campaign at the CIRA Space Qualification Laboratory, confirming the excellent collaboration between these two important companies in the space field in Italy.

The MicroHETsat satellite is continuing its technology demonstration space mission. The thermal-vacuum tests carried out at CIRA made it possible to demonstrate that the satellite was ready for in-orbit operations in the thermal/environmental conditions of low Earth orbit.
