MIDA - Photo-interpretation with high resolution optical satellite images

Obiettivo

It was signed between SMA CAMPANIA (Corporation owned by the Region Campania), CIRA, MAPSAT and FACA a framework cooperation agreement for research, development and technology transfer of innovative solutions based on satellite remote sensing to be integrated into the monitoring system of the region. In this context arises the project Midas, for testing a land monitoring system  through satellite imagery. The activity develops through photo-interpretation  with high resolution optical satellite images to produce maps of changes in areas affected by spillage on the surface of waste.

Attività nel progetto CIRA

Cira is responsible for technical/scientific coordination of the project. It also develops activities of experimentation based on innovative technologies of remote sensing for the characterization of the results on sample areas through acquisitions by drone.

  1. planning and management of two satellite acquisition campaigns
  2. multispectral SATELLITE image acquisition with 50 cm resolution covering approximately 1500 sq km
  3. Photo-interpretation to generate an initial map of the changes in the areas affected spillage on the surface of waste
  4. panchromatic SATELLITE image acquisition with 70 resolution covering approximately 1500 sq km
  5. Photo-interpretation to generate a second map changes in areas spillage on the surface of waste
  6. characterization of the sample areas through acquisitions images from drone
  7. staff training activities SMA CAMPANIA
