ASCI - Safety-critical interoperability applications amongst autonomous heterogeneous systems
Obiettivo
The project aims to define a design paradigm for safety-critical interoperability applications amongst heterogeneous autonomous systems.
Attività nel progetto CIRA
CIRA activities shall consist in the definition of safety, security, interoperability, performance and functional requirements of the paradigm. Moreover, the activities shall include the implementation and the on-field testing of a prototype for the fulfillment of a surveillance mission by means of a fleet of heterogeneous and coordinated autonomous systems.
This solution presents the following potential benefits:
global information: all the systems may share their own information with the other members of the fleet on a dedicated communication network, thus, the whole platform is able to act by means of a global situation awareness (or network-centric awareness);
efficient resource management: a coordination strategy may allocate the available resources of the fleet on the multiple mission targets in order to avoid conflicts and to perform a "balanced" service policy of the different targets;
robustness: the fleet may reconfigure its own distribution architecture in order to minimize the performance degradation in case of system failures and to guarantee the most suitable resilience.

ASCI is a CIRA internal project.

Safety and Security, Adptive Structures
This project aims to define and validate a design paradigm for a software prototype, which shall manage the execution of a surveillance mission (for security or environmental purposes) by means of the coordinated fleet of heterogeneous autonomous systems (TRL 6, IRL 6).
