Spectroscopic techniques for the analysis of pollutants are adopted in cooperation with other CIRA labs. In the framework of PRORA Program the ACAM laboratory is planned to be enhanced by the acquisition of monitoring systems for the analysis of aircraft and airport air pollutant emissions. In details, it is planned to acquire exhaust gas analyzers for CO and CO2, NOx

Measurement techniques

The ACAM laboratory studies and uses state-of-the-art and advanced instruments for noise and pollutant emissions diagnostics.

Concerning noise measurements, a traditional acoustic measurement equipment is adopted for the noise data acquisition, such as high sensitivity microphones, data-acquisition devices, weather station, and so on. For the pollutants section, the laboratory is on the way to be equipped with pollutants monitoring stations, and exhaust gas analyzers. Then, the ACAM laboratory is already equipped and also is on the way to improve and enhance its availability of post-processing software, both home-made and commercial off the shelf to carry out complete analyses of environmental impact due to air transport, so taking into account both aspects of noise and pollutants.

Customers

Italian Air Force, Italian Navy, Leonardo

Partners

The Laboratory signed a framework agreement with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
| |
The ACAM experimental laboratory staff, based on a proven experience acquired though many years of collaboration with the Italian Air Force and the Italian Navy, is able to provide the following services:

air vehicles environmental impact assessment;

noise zoning around airports;

development of environmental monitoring systems and elaboration of action plans for environmental issues recovery and management;

acquisition of noise and pollutant emissions data, during take-off, landing and overflight, for the definition of related databases and for the study of optimized flight trajectories.

| |
Acoustic measurement and service devices compose the equipment of ACAM Lab.
