Aerodays 2019, the contribution made by CIRA<img alt="" src="" style="BORDER:0px solid;" /> 2019, the contribution made by CIRAAerodays 2019, the contribution made by CIRA<p style="text-align:justify;">The objectives of CIRA's participation in the Aerodays held in Bucharest from 27th to 30th May 2019 were to report on the results achieved within the context of EU-funded projects and to take part in the main roundtable discussions in view of forthcoming European programmes.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The Aerodays represent the European flagship event in aviation research and innovation which are held once during each EU research framework programme. The one held in Bucharest, organised jointly by the European Commission and the Rumanian Presidency of the EU Council, aims to share the results of the Horizon 2020 collaborative research projects, the biggest EU research and innovation programme to date, and, for the very first time, it will be followed by a second event to be held in Germany in 2020.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The conference and the exhibition hosted over 800 researchers and representatives from the aviation and aerospace sectors, including several CIRA delegates who reported the results achieved by the Centre within the context of funded research projects, in particular: EVOATM, Evolutionary Air Traffic Management (D. Pascarella, Reliability and Safety Unit), RADIAN, Facilitating Collaboration in ReseArch and Development to Foster Further Innovation in European AeroNautics (A. Vozella, Reliability and Safety Unit), GRADE, GNSS Solutions for Increased GA and Rotorcraft Airport Accessibility Demonstration (A. Vitale On-board Systems and ATM Unit) and finally, within the context of the Forum organised by ETNA2020 and APRE, the T-WING project with an speech: "T-WING - design, manufacture and qualification of an innovative wing" (M. Belardo, Structures and Materials Unit).</p><p style="text-align:justify;">During the event, the CleanSky2 Governing Board was held, in which CIRA and the main partners of the programme decided to sign a "joint statement" during the International Paris Air Show SIAE - Le Bourget to support the establishment of the European Clean Aviation Partnership within the context of the upcoming Horizon Europe Programme, as the natural continuation of the Clean Sky 2 European research programme.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">CIRA has taken part in several other meetings such as the one organised by EREA, regarding the preparation of the upcoming Horizon Europe programme, or the one organised by IFAR to discuss research activities to be carried out through international collaborations, in particular within the context of the future framework programme.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Finally, the Aerodays provided the opportunity for a fruitful meeting with the delegation from the Russian TsAGI research Centre with the aim of following up the recently-signed MoU by defining concrete collaboration activities.<br></p>2019-06-13T22:00:00Z
