Carmelo Izzo, responsible for CIRA PT1 wind tunnel, has been recently nominated as President-Elect in the Governing Board of the Supersonic Tunnel Association, International (STAI). He will collaborate with the other members to ensure smooth running of the organization by overseeing STAI activities within the Executive Committee Board.
CIRA has been part of STAI since 2000, sharing with international partners information related to wind tunnel facility operation, instrumentation and test techniques. Currently, there are 34 worldwide wind tunnel facilities and research centers that are part of this organization, including NASA, DNW, ONERA, ARA, ETW, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, FSU, NAE, VKI, JAXA, ARI, INCAS.
