Successful completion of the dynamic testing activities for the HERWINGT morphing flap demonstrator

A new milestone has been achieved in the HERWINGT Project, funded by the Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking.

CIRA has successfully completed the dynamic testing activities of the compliant morphing flap demonstrator at EuroTech, the project partner responsible for manufacturing the demonstrator and its dedicated test rig.

The experimental campaign successfully validated the numerical predictions, confirming the adopted design and modelling approach and representing a significant step towards the maturation of innovative morphing technologies for next-generation sustainable aircraft.

The dynamic testing activities mark one phase of the demonstrator validation process. Functional and static testing will follow in the coming weeks, completing the experimental campaign planned within the HERWINGT Project.
