CIRA Researchers Appointed Guest Editors of the Applied Sciences Special Issue on “Aircraft Aerodynamic Design and Analysis”
CIRA researchers Mauro Minervino and Domenico Quagliarella, from the Fluid Mechanics Unit, have been appointed Guest Editors of the Special Issue “Aircraft Aerodynamic Design and Analysis” of the international scientific journal Applied Sciences, published by MDPI.
This appointment represents an important recognition of CIRA’s contribution to international research in this field.
The Special Issue will collect the most relevant contributions on recent developments in aircraft aerodynamic design and on the emerging challenges facing aviation, with particular attention to sustainability, efficiency, and innovative aircraft configurations.
Main topics include:
- Multi-fidelity aerodynamic shape design optimisation.
- Drag reduction in aeronautics.
- Flow control and shape-varying solutions to improve aircraft performance.
- Advanced machine learning approaches in aircraft design loops.
The call for papers is open until 20 January 2027.
