LIPROM – Liquid Propulsion Research on Oxygen Methane
Obiettivo
The objectives and activities have been defined in order to best fit the framework of the international cooperation agreement in place between ASI and JAXA on LOX/LCH4 propulsion.
Attività nel progetto CIRA
More specifically, the primary technical objectives of the work are:
to define and manufacture an experimental test article in order to study the thermal behaviour of the methane, to support the experiments in Italy and to carry out the scientific collaboration with JAXA on such topic;
support in design activities with CFD analyses, thermo-structural analyses, and system analyses in particular combustion stability analyses.
CIRA in the project has the following responsibilities:
Responsible of the CFD analyses, and support to thermo structural analyses and combustion stability analyses for the 100 kN ASI JAXA Thrust Chamber Assembly;
Responsible of the test article development for methane characterization, testing activities and cross check with JAXA data.
