In December 2018, in the frame of VEGA C program, evolution of the previous VEGA, CIRA delivered the launcher's Aerodatabase to AVIO, which will allow the AVIO team to design the Guidance and Control strategy in the atmospheric phase.
The heritage of many years on numerical and experimental aerodynamics has allowed CIRA to coordinate and develop the Aerodatabase of VEGA C integrating the experimental data of the trisonic tunnel in INCAS (in Romania) with the numerical simulations performed with CIRA CFD proprietary codes(ZEN and NeXT).
The University of Rome3 collaborated in the experimental campaign for the acoustic characterization of the launcher.
