TB-GRID - A Satellite central tube and a boom for deployable antennas to be manufactured in composite materials

Obiettivo

Design and automated manufacturing of satellite central tube and boom for deployable antennas in composite grid structures.

Attività nel progetto CIRA

All activities of the project will be carried out by CIRA. The project foresees the design, the manufacturing and the test of two axial symmetric grid structures in composite materials for space application. These demonstrators do not foresee the outer skin, but only grid structure. In particular, CIRA will manufacture:

  • Satellite central tube with cylindrical section

  • Boom for deployable antennas with cylindrical section
