INTERSTADIO GRID_Preliminary Design

The preliminary design of the composite Grid structure of the interstage 2/3 is in progress. The whole structure has been sized, particularly the grid part and the outer skin. Also the interfaces with the two stages, windows and several flanges have been designed.

The design phase has been implemented taking into account the manufacturing processes, which are automated and highly oriented to industrial production.

At same time, all tools for the manufacturing of the interstage have been designed and are in the phase of procurement.

The completion of the preliminary design is foreseen in December 2016.
