Satellite Commerciale CubeSat 6U pronto per il lancio nello Spazio

Commercial 6U CubeSat ready for launch into space

CIRA's Space Qualification Laboratory, in full compliance with anti Covid-19 safety protocols, has just successfully accomplished a test campaign on the Flight Model of a commercial 6U CubeSat satellite – together with the flight dispenser and bracket – developed by Tyvak International. Vibrational and thermal vacuum tests will allow the CubeSat flight system to be launched into space as the first demonstrator of a nanosatellites constellation for Internet of Things applications. The launch is currently scheduled for the end of 2020.

The qualification campaign carried out at CIRA had the aim to validate the behavior of the 6U CubeSat against vibrational (sine, random, quasi static) and environmental (thermal vacuum) operating loads, which the satellites will have to withstand during launch, deployment and staying in orbit.

Tyvak International is the European subsidiary of Terran Orbital and leading aerospace provider of nanosatellite and microsatellite vehicles, services and solutions. The experience gained and the technical capacity of the team give Tyvak International a significant heritage in the development of small satellites and related advanced technologies, design and operations of space missions and the provision of launch services. About Tyvak International srl: https://www.tyvak.eu
