Qualification test on space electronic equipment

A qualification test campaign, on the PILOT-D Camera Demonstrator Interface Unit (CDIU) device, was successfully completed at CIRA Space Qualification Laboratory. The test campaign was executed on behalf of TSD Space within the ESA Luna-Glob Mission.

Test campaign was executed in full compliance with all the precautionary measures implemented by CIRA for the COVID-19 health emergency. For this means, TSD Space's personnel participation in the test campaign took place remotely via videoconference.

The qualification test campaign, performed at CIRA, verified the capability of the equipment to survive to the mechanical shock loads experienced during in space launch and release phases.

Three high amplitude and wide frequency range mechanical shock for each of the 3 axis were applied to the equipment bolted to the ringing plate of the pyroshock test facility. The new large (2,5 m) ringing plate was used to obtain the requested Shock Response Spectra (SRS) within the tolerances imposed by the ECSS standard (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) . After the test campaign TSD Space performed functional tests at their premise that demonstrated the fully operation of the equipment, now ready for the integration on the camera demonstrator system within the ESA Luna-Glob Mission.
