The CIRA Space Qualification team at the Siemens Advanced Environmental Testing Master Class
The CIRA Space Qualification team has accomplished an important phase of professional development, strengthening its expertise in the environmental qualification of both civilian and military aeronautical and space systems.
During the Advanced Environmental Testing Master Class, held from February 10 to 12, 2026, at Siemens Digital Industries Software in Leuven (BE), team members participated in an intensive training program that combined advanced theoretical sessions (Sine/Random Vibration, MIMO, Virtual Shaker) with hands-on practical activities on vibrations, shocks, and mission synthesis.
Throughout the event, CIRA technicians had the opportunity to share their experiences and expertise with high-level experts (ESA, civilian and military companies, Siemens) in the field of environmental testing.
In particular, CIRA presented its activities related to pyro-shock qualification, focusing on both physical and virtual testing. A key aspect of the presentation was the recent development and validation of a digital twin of the Space Qualification Lab’s test facility, a milestone that marks significant progress in advanced simulation and virtual testing.
