CIRA in ENGRT II: advanced technologies for European rotorcraft
CIRA is actively involved in the ENGRT II (European Next Generation Rotorcraft Technologies) project, a major European initiative dedicated to advancing the capabilities of next-generation rotorcraft.
Following the official Kick-off Meeting held in Brussels, the project has entered its operational phase, bringing together a consortium of 53 industrial and institutional partners. The initiative is led and coordinated by Airbus Helicopters, with Leonardo acting as co-lead.
Co-funded by the European Union and spanning three years, ENGRT II aims to mature critical technologies required to protect Europe in highly contested environments.
Within the project, CIRA contributes its expertise in the development of passive Ice Protection Systems, as well as in ice accretion simulations and flight testing activities.
