CIRA and ESRE at the 15th European Space Conference<img alt="" src="https://www.cira.it/PublishingImages/European%20Space%20Conference%203.jpg" style="BORDER:0px solid;" />https://www.cira.it/en/communication/news/cira-ed-esre-alla-15th-european-space-conference/CIRA and ESRE at the 15th European Space ConferenceCIRA and ESRE at the 15th European Space Conference<p style="text-align:justify;">​​​On 24-25 January 2023, the <a href="https://spaceconference.eu/">15th European Space Conference</a>, held in Brussels, has gathered high-level decision makers from across EU institutions and Member States, the European Space Agency, representatives of the industry, research domain and civil society to discuss on the theme “Securing the Future of Europe in Space".</p><p style="text-align:justify;">In this context, CIRA President Anto. Blandini, current ESRE Chair, was invited to speak about the topic “Space Traffic Management for a safe, secure and sustainable outer space".</p><p style="text-align:justify;">During the discussion panel, on behalf of ESRE, President Blandini has recalled that Research Establishments represent the right place to develop technologies and to propose breakthrough solutions in answer to technological challenges, also thanks to their available testing capabilities to validate new solutions.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Furthermore, he was also highlighting that ESRE, being an association of non-profit and governmental RTOs, may play a role of neutral technical expert for assessing the risks, solutions and possibly regulatory framework of Space Traffic Management.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><br>About ESRE</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Founded in March 2016 as a not for profit organization, ESRE, the Association of European Space Research Establishments, now joins eight public research centres: members: CBK (Poland), CIRA (Italy), DLR (Germany), INCAS (Romania), INTA (Spain), NLR (Netherlands) and ONERA (France), VZLU (Czech Republic).</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Through the creation of this association, these organizations, leaders in European space research, have decided to strengthen their cooperation and propose joint R&TD actions to advance the cutting edge of science as well as innovative technologies, to support the competitiveness of the European space sector.
