Hybrid Electric Regional Wing Integration Novel Wing Green Technologies

Main Goals of the Project

  • Design a pioneering wing for a Hybryd Eletric Regional Aircraft;
  • Capacity of 100 seats – Range 500 to 1000 Km;
  • 50% fuel reduction at A/C level;
  • Drag reduction by improving efficiency;
  • Weight reduction by more integrated sytems and new material technologies.

CIRA Activities in the Project

  • Aero-structural design of a high-aspect ratio cantilever wing;
  • Aerodynamic design of high-lift system;
  • Design, manufacturing and testing of a compliant morphing trailing-edge.
