IRON - Innovative turbopROp configuratioN

Obiettivo

​Improvements of performances of regional aircraft in the 90 passenger segment. In the project, two different aircraft configurations will be studied: a non-conventional aircraft configuration (laminar wing and tail-mounted engines) and a conventional aircraft configuration.

 

Attività nel progetto CIRA

  CIRA is the project coordinator. CIRA will also be involved in:

  • Aerodynamics design of non conventional aircraft configuration;

  • Aero-data-base of non conventional aircraft configuration;

  • High performances and low noise propeller design;

  • Study and comparison of several propeller ice protection concepts.

The project has been funded in the frame of the second call for core partners of Clean Sky 2, IADP Regional, topic: JTI-CS2-CPW02-REG-01-03.

CIRA is the coordinator and 10 partners form several European countries are involved.
