PT1 Transonic Wind Tunnel
PT-1 is a wind tunnel for subsonic, transonic and supersonic testing. In this speed range, close to the speed of sound, there occur phenomena that modify the way with which air interacts with the shape of the wing and, therefore, its ability to support an aircraft in flight. These phenomena and behaviors are still not fully known and understood.
Through PT-1 CIRA is a member of the International Supersonic Tunnel Association (STAI).
